Glass Art Camp

Glass Art Camp

Cost: $275 Per Week

Join us this summer for a fun, educational, and socially distant art camp! Kids will learn a variety of glass art techniques to create beautiful fused glass pieces at our newly expanded studio in Seymour.

Our summer camp starts at 9 AM and ends at 12 PM, with a break for lunch brought from home. Programming is $275 each week, including glass and supplies! We’ll focus on one activity a day based on the theme of the week. Kids will be making marvelous fused glass projects like sun catchers, ornaments, bowls, and even more. Don’t worry- there’s no molten glass here. Children will cut and layer cold pieces of glass, which are then melted down inside a kiln. Finished products will be available for later pick up.

COVID 19 INFORMATION: Concerned about COVID? We totally understand- our staff stays fully masked throughout the day. All supplies and work stations are sanitized after use, and hand sanitizer is available throughout the studio. Classes are small, and socially distant.  Masks are absolutely required, and we always have extras for our forgetful friends 🙂

REGISTRATION: To register for our camp, please fill out our google form here. Once the application is submitted, registration will be approved and you will be invoiced via email to be pay and reserve your space. Registration and payment for the program must be completed and submitted by the start date of selected week(s). Full payment is required at the time of registration to reserve the child’s space. Payment can be over the phone or at our studio. Due to limited space, cancellations MUST be made a week prior to program start date to receive a refund.

Does your child have a love for fun and funky creatures? During Animal Week, kids will be making projects such as pet portraits, animal ornaments made out of different textures and colors of glass, animal print bowls, and various other projects that will be so awesome you’ll ROAR with excitement!

During this week, kids will be making projects such as mushroom suncatchers, windchimes made out of gathered branches, and miniature glass gardens to hang in their windows! Not only will we be making nature inspired projects- but also learning about our awesome Earth and how nature has inspired other artists since the beginning of time!

Maybe your child has an affinity for the abstract! In this week, we will be making projects that focus on color theory, collaging shapes to create suncatchers, fused plates/bowls, and learning about other abstract artists that will inspire original geometric designs.

Get ready to make some art that’s simply out of this world! During this week, we will be creating solar system windchimes, nebula landscapes out of frit and cut glass, and funky alien suncatchers.

~Older Kids Camp (Ages 11-14+)~

This week is only offered to our older group of kids, who will be doing projects inspired by some of the most famous artists of all time. Some of the activities we’ll be doing include recreating Van Gogh’s Starry Night, dream inspired pieces like Salvador Dali, and making fun and funky abstract designs inspired by music, just like Kandinsky.

During this week, older kids will be making kiln carved pieces, copper inclusion suncatchers, and windchimes made out of gathered branches! Not only will we be making nature inspired projects- but also learning about our awesome Earth and how nature has inspired other artists since the beginning of time!

This week is very similar to an independent study and is great for teens and tweens who want to do everything but the kitchen sink (and even that!). They’ll learn various design & texture techniques in fused glass, and then they are free to simply do whatever they want- whether it be a simple vase or a recreation of the Mona Lisa! The class structure is almost identical to our adult classes. Whatever the idea (or ideas!) we’ll execute it together!
