Winter Wonderland Fused Glass Lanterns

It’s winter~! It’s time to cozy up by a fire, wrap a blanket around you, light a candle, drink some hot cocoa! There’s fresh snow on the ground, frosty branches, the deep blues of a crisp evening sky, and the glow of holiday lights. The colors during the winter are beautiful – and now we can catch all of that in a fused glass lantern.

In this workshop, you’ll create four winter-themed panels out of fused glass, stringers, and frit. Think icy trees, snowflakes, glowing stars, or even a candy-cane forest! Delicious!  We’ll walk you through the ins and outs of fused glass, give tool demonstrations, go over safety practices, and show you the building-block techniques of this very magical medium.

You’ll be doing a type of glasswork called cold working: working with glass without heat. We’ll fire your pieces in the kiln after you leave, and your finished lantern will be ready for pickup within a week. No need to assemble the lantern yourself, we got that! You’ll be picking up a fully assembled piece of art.
