Growing in Glass – Fused Glass Plant Stakes

This one is for all of my houseplant hunnies. Plants and glass are maybe one of the best combinations on earth, and if you’ve been to our studio, you know exactly what I’m talking about. There’s nothing like a little decoration for your favorite houseplant! In this workshop, we’re making up to 3 smaller sized plant stakes. A little bigger than your hand. Perfect for a big fig tree or a small baby pothos!

For 2 hours you’ll be in our very cozy studio learning the ins and outs of fused glass. We’ll go over glass safety, how to cut and grind glass, and how to put your glass plant stakes together so it melts perfectly in the kiln. You’ll be doing something called cold working in glass – this means you’re working without heat. We’ll be taking care of the firing. Your pieces will be ready for pick up within a week.

You can make whatever type of plant stakes you’d like, our sample photo is mushrooms (cuz we think they’re cute!) but if you have an idea, your very experienced instructor will help you bring it to life. Think abstract, flowers, funky! If you’re a bit more subdued and love a good neutral, we have that too. This is for all plant people- whether you’re a minimalist or a maximalist!
